How does one write a letter to a personality trait? Oh, not to mention, where to begin?
I can say I do have a few personality traits that I, myself, dislike. However, let’s just take a step back from this prompt for a moment. What has shaped us up to today’s time? Our personality, of course. If certain traits haven’t come into play, shaping us up to who we are, then what would that leave us as?
All traits have their good and bad side, no doubt about that. And writing a letter to a certain personality trait will not make it shape up or ship out, I’ll tell you that. You are who you are, and nothing can change that. Unless… you plan to make a change in yourself. Which is quite tough, because even if one is willing to change their overall behavior or personality, its surely enough not going to easily drift away under a matter of days.
Think about it. Let’s say one of your personality traits which you dislike the most of yourself, just one days drifts away without a trace. Sounds like it would be your luckiest day, right? Wrong.
The moment that personality trait floats away, you’re no longer your unique self anymore. You may as well consider yourself someone else – a new being, perhaps. Your friends, family even, would take into suspicion of you; wondering where that special spark of yours has gone off to. Surely enough they wouldn’t accept this “new and improved” you right away. However, it would be a matter of time before they even bother to ask.
See, while changing your unique personality traits would may be considered a ‘good thing’, it may also lead people around you to drift away in wonder of where that old spark of yours has gone.
