Dedicated to: Sara Ann Corbett It's been a few years too long Day after day Year after year Memories remain in repeat Loop after loop As time only appears to tick on Where are you? Where have you gone? It's been a few years too long, When will I ever see you again? Where will I ever see you again? ...Will I ever see you again? Just one more time One more small moment is all I need All I ever want is to see you again Not through this measly photo in my hand But to see you in front of me Last I remember, We made a promise A promise to see each other again One way or another, Day after day Year after year That promise only appears to fade As time only appears to tick on It's been a few years too long Perhaps a few years too late Any means of contact remains impossible Despite the long journey away It seems as if I'm only meant to run into walls But never into you Where are you? Where have you gone? Last I remember, We made a promise A promise to see each other again One way or another Half a decade has already past, And yet here I am Merely wondering Where are you? Where have you gone? ...Will I ever see you again?
Sorry for all the inactivity lately, ahah… school life really got to me. I’ll try to update normally again, since it is summer break which = freedom noises from school hell!! Also means more time to do other stuff, so. I’ll try updating every Sunday with poems about life, short stories, writing techniques, and/or daily prompts!
If you’re curious, the poem above was just about a very good friend of mine back in 5th grade… that I wish I could see again. We got split up because of the different schools we were heading to, and that was a major heart break for me because she was my very first and best of friends. She handed me her home phone number before we spilt, but being the stupid 5th grader I was, I lost it. To this very day, I’m pathetically still looking for my best friend, in hopes we’ll one day see/find each other again.
…I’m a very emotionally clingy person, okay?
